Dr. Rizwan Chaudhry is a highly-skilled advanced laparoscopic, bariatric, and general surgeon for Chaudhry Bariatric.

Board-certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Chaudhry trained at some of the most prestigious institutions in the nation prior to starting his practice in Houston.

Dr. Chaudhry completed his General Surgery residency at the world-famous Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He then went on to complete a fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery (weight-loss surgery) at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

 

Dr. Chaudhry serves as Medical Director of the Weight Loss and Metabolic Center at St. Luke's Patients's Medical Center. After a year into practice, he led a local hospital to be accredited as a Comprehensive Center for Bariatric Surgery by the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons. In 2016, he was named the top bariatric surgeon in the Houston Bay Area. He has also earned a Top Doctor's award for 2018, 2019, and 2020. These accolades are a testament to the quality of care he provides for his patients. Dr. Chaudhry also has a passion for advancing the medical sciences. He has published multiple surgery-related articles in peer-reviewed journals and has given multiple presentations at national meetings.

Aside from his passion in treating weight-loss, Dr. Chaudhry performs a multitude of minimally-invasive general surgical procedures as well. He surgically treats GERD (gastro-esophageal reflux disease) and complex paraesophageal hernias with laparoscopic techniques.

Dr. Chaudhry strives to treat each patient individually and tries to to understand the needs of each patient separately as everyone is unique in their own way. His goal is to improve the lives of his patients with safe surgical techniques and close follow-up after surgery, to ensure all their needs are met throughout the pre- and post-operative period.
